I enjoyed the discussion on the pilot at SFO who posted youtube video of a security door. I appreciate the pilot’s point that ground crew and flight crew are subject to different types of screening before entering secured areas. But I’d like to point out that the door in question does not access the AOA, or a secured area. Before accessing the AOA an employee must swipe a badge and verify his/her identity with a biometric hand reader. The potential still exists that an employee could bring contraband through these access portals, but nonetheless the airport’s security program is in full compliance with federal requirements.
